  • About Bulleen, Melbourne
Bulleen is a popular suburb that is located in Melbourne’s North-East area. It is 13km north-east of the Melbourne BD and located within the local government area of the City of Manningham. The suburb’s name is believed to originate from the nearby Bolin Bolin Billabong. Buln-buln translates to lyrebird, which is accepted as the meaning of the suburb’s name. Bulleen is surrounded by other Melbourne suburbs like Heidelberg, Eaglemont, Kew East, Balwyn North, Doncaster, Templestowe Lower, Lower Plenty and Viewbank. The suburb has several schools including a catholic primary school, a catholic secondary school, and a school for kids with Autism. The main shopping area of Bulleen is the Bulleen Plaza which was formerly known as the Bulleen Village and includes a library, a post office, a medical centre, a Coles Supermarket, a business centre and shops and cafes. Distance to Watsonia Podiatry:
    • Bulleen Plaza – 9.9km (via State route 44 and 46)
    • Marcellin College (Secondary School) – 12km (via State route 46)
  • What does a Podiatrist do?
Podiatrists are specialists in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of lower limb and foot conditions.
  • Do I need a referral to see a Podiatrist?
No, you do not need a referral to see a podiatrist. However, if you are having your costs covered by Workcover, the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) or through an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan, you will need to be referred to our clinic by your general practitioner.
  • Do you have HICAPS?
Yes. We have a HICAPS terminal on site which allows you to claim your consultation on private health after your appointment. If you forget your private health card, we can email you a copy of your invoice and you can claim directly with your private health fund.
  • Is Podiatry bulk billed?
If you have an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan from your GP, your podiatry consultation will be bulk billed. You are entitled to 5 visits covered on an EPC by Medicare for allied health services per calendar year. Your GP will determine whether you are eligible for this program. If you do not have an EPC, your consultation will not be bulk billed by Medicare.
  • Is there Parking and disabled access?
Yes there is both. We have parking directly out the front of the clinic. There are no stairs into the clinic, therefore allowing for disabled access. We also have bathroom facilities on site that allow for disabled access.
