OUCH!!! OUCH!!! OUCH!!! Heel pain HURTS!!
Do you get pain in your heels when step out of bed in the morning?
Do you find yourself walking on your toes to take pressure off your heels?
Do you find the pain eases only to come back later in the day just as bad?
Do you find you dread getting up after sitting down for a while?
Well the good news is you are not alone with your heel pain!!!
These symptoms are commonly caused by a condition called plantar fasciitis. If plantar fasciitis is left for an extended period of time this can develop into heel spurs. Both of these conditions can be resolved with a variety of different treatment options.
It is important to note that the heel spurring on it’s own does not cause pain. It is the inflammation around the plantar fascia which causes pain.
Treatment for plantar fasciitis
At the clinic we offer a variety of treatments help reduce the symptoms of plantar fasciitis in the short term and strategies to prevent it returning.
- foot mobilisation
- trigger point dry needling (TPDN)
- orthotics(both custom made and preformed orthotics)
- taping to help offload the plantar fascia
- a stretching and exercise program to help aid in a quicker recovery
With these strategies we are able to get you back doing the things you love, instead of hobbling around in pain.
